What do you learn in game software development at westwood College or any other place?

I looked on their site at the courses but I'm unsure if they teach programming also. Is there anything I need to learn ahead of time? How should I prepare myself before I attend westwood college? I say that because I would like to start learning some stuff on my own before I go. Also, I would like to be a video game programming. Tips & Ideas & experiences? Thank you.
